ATTENDING PRE-SCHOOL
helps children do better in Kindergarten. Parents — you can
contact your local elementary school to find out about State-funded
pre-schools and other programs for young children that often are
available at low to no cost. More information is available at the
California Child Care Resource and Referral Network (http://www.rrnetwork.org/).

EARLY CHILDHOOD
(birth to age 5) is an extremely important time in your child’s
development. This is such an important time that California has
established Commissions on Children and Families (http://www.ccfc.ca.gov/)
in every county. Parents—you can contact your County government
office to find out about the Commission in your area and any health
and education programs that it is supporting. Or, check out the
county commission Web site at: http://www.ccfc.ca.gov/countyinfo.htm.
